Jennifer Blalock
from the USA was the first person to sponsor children from
Namaste Banepa. It was through Jennifer’s help that
five children from the same family received education. Today
the eldest child is working in the local hospital and studying
part-time at a local collage; the youngest has only just completed
schooling and is applying for further studies in the same
collage.
Irma Hildenbrand
used to live and work in Nepal. Through her love of the country
and its people she is helping raise awareness in her home
country of Germany of the plight of children and lack of education
in Nepal. Irma currently sponsors six children, all of whom
are studying in Shree Gramodaya Middle School.
Jackie Taylor
lives in Nepal where she runs a small vocational training
organisation which helps raise the standard of living among
village communities through providing semi-skilled, skilled
and farm related training. Jackie has been involved with Namaste
Banepa for several years and works closely with the board
in coordinating the development of the organisation and fundraising
activities.

"The
Convention on the Rights of the Child
adopted by the United Nations in 1989 reaffirms
that all children have rights that must be respected,
protected and promoted. Article 28 states that
"All children have a right to education".
In some places around the world, this just does
not happen."
