Bhaban
is 12 years old and has studied for 7 years and is currently
in Azad High School. Although neither parent has received
an education, all of Bhaban’s three of his four sisters
and his brother were able to attend school. However over the
years Bhaban’s father has become ill and it was impossible
for Bhaban to continue his education until Namaste Banepa
came along. Being good at English, maths and Nepali, Bhaban
is extremely happy that he has been able to continue his schooling
with the help of Namaste Banepa and wishes to go into the
army when he completes his education.
"The
Convention on the Rights of the Child
adopted by the United Nations in 1989 reaffirms
that all children have rights that must be respected,
protected and promoted. Article 28 states that
"All children have a right to education".
In some places around the world, this just does
not happen."
